Heinrich Rohrer Graduate Student Award
The intention of Nano San Diego 2018 Graduate Student Awards is to honor and encourage the academic achievements of graduate students and their current Nano education/research, which are par excellence and distinction. Nano San Diego 2018 seeks to recognize students with an exceptional ability towards achieving a promising future achievement in the Nano research. Award Package
During the week of the Nano San Diego 2018 meeting, it is at the Award Session that Gold and Silver Awards are presented and announced in the Nano San Diego 2018 Bulletin. The prizes comprise of $300 and a presentation plaque and a certificate.
Endower
The Heinrich Rohrer Graduate Student Award is an award which honors the late. Heinrich Rohrer lifelong commitment to Nanotechnology & physics. Rohrer is widely regarded as one of the founding scientists of the nanotechnology field. This prize consists of $300 and a presentation plaque and will be presented at Nano San Diego 2018.
Nano San Diego 2018 acknowledges the Nanotechnology contribution for the Heinrich Rohrer Award to the Nano San Diego 2018. from HELICS GROUP SCIENTIFIC NETWORKS in memory of Mary Breckinridge.
Application Information
The finalist for Graduate Student Award will be presented at the Nano San Diego 2018. Special Talk Sessions, and graduate student awardees will be honored as a special recognition at event.
Rules & Eligibility
The applicant must be:
- an author or co-author of an abstract that has been submitted for oral or poster presentation for the upcoming Nano meeting listed on the current application
- in good standing in a recognized academic graduate degree program*
*Applicants must be existing students. Exemptions are made for those who have finished their graduate studies and have successfully defended their dissertation, or those who have received their final graduate degree, during the quarter prior to the Nano San Diego 2018 meeting. However, they must have presented research performed as part of their graduate studies. Individuals whose final graduate degree (as per the actual the date on the diploma) has been handed over more than four months in advance of the upcoming Nano San Diego 2018 meeting do not have the eligibility to apply.
