IMMUNE USA 2018 GRADUATE STUDENT AWARD

Immune USA 2018 Graduate Student Awards are intended to honor and encourage graduate students whose academic achievements and current Immune education/ research display a high level of excellence and distinction. Immune USA 2018 seeks to recognize students of exceptional ability who show promise for significant future achievement in Immune research. Information regarding upcoming Graduate Student Awards is available below.

Immune USA 2018 Nomination Period: November 1—December 1, 2017

Award Package

Gold and Silver Awards are presented at the Award Session during the week of the Immune USA 2018 meeting and announced in the Immune USA 2018 Bulletin. The prizes consist of $400 and a presentation plaque for the Gold Awards, and $200 and a certificate for the Silver Awards.

Sir George Davis Snell Graduate Student Award

A newly endowed award, the Sir George Davis Snell Graduate Student Award, which honors the late Dr. Sir George Davis Snell and his lifelong commitment to teaching and mentoring students in Immune Science, will be presented to a Immune finalist who shows particular promise as a future teacher and mentor. This prize consists of $500 and a presentation plaque.  This award will be presented at Immune USA 2018.

Immune USA 2018 acknowledges the generous contribution for the Sir George Davis Snell Award to the Immune USA 2018 from HELICS GROUP SCIENTIFIC NETWORKS in memory of Sir George Davis Snell.

Graduate Student Award finalists will present at the Immune Special Talk Sessions, and the Gold and Silver graduate student awardees will be honored at a special recognition event.

Rules & Eligibility

The applicant must be:

  • an author or co-author of an abstract submitted for oral or poster presentation during the upcoming meeting specified on the current application
  • in good standing in a recognized academic graduate degree program*

Application Information

*Applicants must be current students. Exceptions are made for individuals who have completed their graduate studies and successfully defended their doctoral dissertation, or who have received their final graduate degree, during the four months prior to the Immune USA 2018 meeting provided they are presenting research that was performed as part of their graduate studies. Individuals who have received their final graduate degree (according to actual the date on the diploma) more than four months in advance of the upcoming Immune USA 2018 meeting are not eligible to apply.
