GYNECOLOGY Houston 2019 MEDAL Gynecology Medal Nomination Information The Gynaecology Medal recognizes any outstanding achievement made in Gynecology research/Gynecology education in the past decade. Any advances made in a field related to Gynecology research/Gynecology education, be it a major advance or a set of closely related progress, will be awarded a medal. The way in which the research impacts the progress of related materials field determines the primary factor considered to make the award. Purpose The intention of the Gynecology Medal is to professionally recognize in public, any exceptional achievement in Gynecology research/education in the past decade. A medal will be awarded for any advance or a cluster of interrelated advances that majorly impact(s) the progress of the relevant Gynecology field. The Award Each medal comprises of a cash prize of $5, 00, an engraved and mounted medal and a citation certificate. Any expenses related to the registration fee and travel to the Gynecology meeting where the award presentation is conducted will not be reimbursed. Administration The Medal Subcommittee of the Gynecology Awards Committee manages the Gynecology Medal program. The responsibility of the subcommittee is to solicit and evaluate nominations on an annual basis while recommending nominees to the Gynecology Board for final approval. Rules and Eligibility As for the nomination for the Gynecology Medal, it is open to scientists who have been responsible for a major advance, or a series of closely related advances in any field related to Gynecology research, in the past decade. The impact that their Gynecology research has upon the relevant Gynecology field becomes the key area of consideration in making the awards. The degree of impact recognized by the medal may be within a larger traditional field or in a more specialized or emerging field. Work which did not receive any prior award recognition will be generally preferred for the nomination. It is important to note that the intention of the Gynecology Medal is to highlight a particular, high-impact achievement or a set of interrelated achievements as opposed to other awards wherein the key focus is on the basis of accumulated lifetime achievements. It is not necessary for the nominee to be a member of the Gynecology USA 2019. Current Gynecology Medal Award Subcommittee members, Gynecology USA 2019 Board members are eligible. Although the Gynecology USA 2019 Board’s decision to select and approve the medal winners remains final, it is the Awards Committee that recommends the same. Unless the circumstances are extraordinary, medals will not be awarded in absentia. Generally, a medal will be awarded to an individual for a cited achievement. However, the medal may also be awarded for a cited achievement that is attributed to one individual. Nominations remain active for a period of three years. Any updates are to be made by resubmission of all components (updated and original). Requirements of Nomination Package The Gynecology USA 2019 Awards Nomination Submission website portal can be used to submit nominations. The nomination will be submitted through the Gynecology USA 2019 Awards Nomination Submission website portal. The nominator may access the system via their Gynecology USA 2019 Customer ID and Login information. The required nomination information includes: 1.Nominee and Nominator Information The following details are entered by the nominator onto the online form: Full name, organization, mailing address, email address, telephone number. 2.Proposed Citation The proposed citation must not exceed 30 words and are to be entered into the online form. Avoid flowery descriptors and summarize achievements that make it worth a nomination. 3.Nominator statement (upload PDF file, two pages maximum) This statement includes information that supports the award suitability of the candidate with respect to: a. the specific, precisely defined, recent research achievement proposed for recognition b b. the impact of the achievement within Gynecology -related field and way in which it effects other sciences, and c. the innovative and keen quality of the candidate's work 4. Curriculum vitae of the nominee, including a list of the candidate's 10 most relevant publications with proper citation, titles and including a citation analysis (upload PDF file/four pages maximum) 5.Letters of support from two established scientists who are familiar with the nominee's qualifications and research area. Nominator will have to receive the PDF files from supporters before uploading the same tothe system Supporter must make specific references to the criteria (first two bullets) listed in item 3 above A letter should be on official letterhead and must include the supporter’s signature Letters should be formatted as a PDF file; two pages maximum for each Submission Procedure The web portal for submission of a Gynecology USA 2019 Award nomination will open and close on the published date of each award. The nominator may access the system by using their Gynecology USA 2019 website credentials. Nominations remain active for three years only.
