Teresa Monteiro is an Associated Professor with Habilitation at the Physics Department of University of Aveiro and a Full Member of i3N - Institute for Nanostructures, Nanomodelling and Nanofabrication. Her main area of research is related with the optical characterization of wide band gap materials (undoped and intentionally doped with different elements, lanthanides and transition metal ions), including nitrides and oxides from bulk to low dimensional structures. In this research field she has published more than 200 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals of the speciality and participated in dozens of international conferences, both as oral and poster contributions. She supervised and co-supervised 22 post-graduate and 18 graduate students’ dissertations. She has also participated in several jury Academic Degrees (in Portugal and abroad). In the last 20 years she participated in more than 20 national and international research projects.
