Mina Thabet Gayed Kelleni

Family Medicine Registrar

Teaching basic, clinical and experimental pharmacology through both the traditional as well as integrated problem based learning methods to under and post graduate students of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Nursing colleges as well as researching in pharmacology and medicine since 2006. My MSc thesis was entitled: “Effect of nitro-aspirin versus ezetimibe in experimentally induced fatty liver in rats” and the PhD/MD thesis was entitled: “Effect of some antioxidant, antihypertensive and antidiabetic drugs on the toxicity of some antineoplastic drugs in rats”. I really enjoy searching on pharmacotherapy of diabetes, obesity, NAFLD, cancer and autoimmune diseases with special emphasis on pharmacovigilance and drug safety and I’m honored to be the first physician and scientist in the middle east who raised public awareness through newspapers and TV shows about the potential carcinogenicity of the antidiabetic drug pioglitazone which is withdrawn or heavily restricted in the developed countries and unfortunately widely circulating in the developing ones including my county, Egypt. I’ve also practiced general medicine, internal medicine and dermatology in many charitable and private clinics, dispensaries and hospitals since my graduation till this moment.
