International journal of Nano Scientific Networks and Nanotechnology (IJNN) is a multidisciplinary, peer reviewed journal which includes all the major fields in nanotechnology and Nano science. Nanoscience and nanotechnology brought up an unprecedented excitement in the scientific and engineering communities, especially the last decade. It is the engineering of functional systems at the molecular scale. This covers both current work and concepts that are more advanced.  International journal of Nano Scientific Networks and Nanotechnology   publishes original research papers during a broad area of nanoscience & engineering. IJNN provides an ideal forum for presenting original reports of theoretical and experimental nanoscience and nanotechnology research. Nanotechnology is a gathering of rising innovations in which the structure of matter is controlled at the nanometer scale, the size of little quantities of molecules, to create novel materials and gadgets that have valuable and one of kind properties. IJNN is naturally multidisciplinary, and welcomes submissions across biological, physical, engineering, and computer sciences. Contributions from both academia and industry are equally encouraged. IJNN also publishes innovative techniques and instrumentation for the fabrication, characterization and testing of nano-enabled devices and technologies, as well as advanced modelling and simulation methods.

Lei Zhang

Senior Research Officer

Lei Zhang is a Senior Research Officer at National Research Council Canada (NRC), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), an Adjunct Professor of Federal University of Maranhao, Zhengzhou University and Shanghai University, a Vice President of The International Academy of Electrochemical Energy Science (IAOEES). Lei received her Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering (1990) from Wuhan University of Technology (China), first Master’s degree in Materials Chemistry (1993) from Wuhan University (China) and her second Master’s degree in Physical Chemistry (2000) from Simon Fraser University (Canada).

Lei’s industrial experience began at Membrane Reactor Technologies Inc. (MRT) Canada (2001), where as a principle investigator she has led to research advancements of ceramic membranes for the oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) generating one invention disclosure and positioning MRT to secure a $300K investment from Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). (SABIC was ranked fourth in the world among chemical companies by Fortune Global 500 and the world’s 205th largest corporation in 2014)

In 2004, Lei joined National Research Council Canada, Institute for Fuel Cell Innovation (NRC-IFCI) to help initiate the PEM Fuel Cell program. Since joining NRC-IFCI, Lei has been a key contributor to the growth of NRC’s PEM fuel cell reputation worldwide through technical and business contributions (NRC PEM fuel cell catalysis was ranked as the TOP5 strongest competencies worldwide in 2010 by Thomson Reuters).  Lei has also identified and generated several new research directions and capabilities to help increase NRC’s core competencies and impacts, particularly in the areas of supercapacitors, hybrid batteries, metal-air batteries and lithium-ion batteries. She has conducted research as well as applied new materials and technologies in collaboration with Canadian industries through over 20 high-profile projects where she has actively promoted the growth of local and national electrochemical energy technologies with a total value of approximately $10M.

With more than  170 publications, including over 80 referred journal papers ( > 13,000 citations), 4 edited books (one in the process), 5 patents & applications, 4 book chapters, over 30 oral research presentations and over 50 technical reports, Lei’s research and scientific contributions in the areas of electrochemical energy technologies have been internationally recognized. Lei has co-supervised over 30 postdoctoral fellows/visiting professors, Masters, Ph.D. and Co-op students at NRC. She was also an invited guest lecturer and reviewer for various proposals and refereed journal papers. As conference Session Chair/Scientific Committee members, Lei has contributed to the organization of international conferences. She is the member of the NSERC Industrial R&D Fellowships College of Reviewers, the Editorial Board Member of Electrochemical Energy Reviews (EER), Springer- Nature, an active member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC), the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE) and the International Academy of Electrochemical Energy Science (IAOEES).
