The Journal of Materials Science publishes reviews, full-length papers, and short Communications recording original research results on, or techniques for studying the relationship between structure, properties, and uses of materials. The subjects are seen from international and interdisciplinary perspectives covering areas including metals, ceramics, glasses, polymers, electrical materials, composite materials, fibers, nanostructured materials, nanocomposites, and biological and biomedical materials. The Journal of Materials Science is now firmly established as the leading source of primary communication for scientists investigating the structure and properties of all engineering materials

The Journals reports principally the achievements of materials science and engineering all over the world, putting the stress on the original research papers, review articles invited by editor, letters, research notes with novelty as well as brief of scientific achievement, covering a broad spectrum of materials science and technology, encompassing:

K P Jayachandran

Senior Researcher

Dr. K.P. Jayachandran obtained PhD in Physics from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam,India. He has since then obtained advanced training in numerical methods at Basque Center forApplied Mathematics in Spain, Helsinki University of Technology in Finland and Technical Universityof Denmark. After completing his PhD, he joined as a postdoctoral researcher in the Institute ofEarth Sciences, Academia Sinica, Taiwan to work on the geophysics of mantle minerals in 2002.Since 2005 he works at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, first as postdoctoral fellow and later asAuxiliary Investigator working on the electromechanical properties of piezoelectric materials andmagnetoelectric properties of multiferroic materials.

Dr. Jayachandran's work was nominated for theJMS Cahn Prize in 2016. He has chaired technical sessions in 'Computational Methods' in the FourthInternational Congress on Computational Mechanics and Simulation in 2012, in Hyderabad and in'Numerical Optimization Techniques' in the International Conference on Engineering Optimization in2014, held in Lisbon. He has served as the editor of a Conference proceedings. He has authored abook chapter, 30 journal articles and nearly 50 invited and other conference presentations.
