International Journal of Genome science is a peer-reviewed open acess journal that publishes original research articles as well as review articles in all areas of Genetics. As a journal that has evolved with the field that carries its name, Genomics focuses on the development and application of cutting-edge methods, addressing fundamental questions with potential interest to a wide audience. Our aim is to publish the highest quality research and to provide authors with rapid, fair and accurate review and publication of manuscripts falling within our scope. This journal provides the means for scientists, researchers, medical doctors, clinicians and biotechnologists to publish original rapid communications, full papers and timely state-of- the-art reviews encompassing the fundamental and applied research in all areas of the genome science and technology. Highest priority will be given to short communications reporting important new scientific and technological findings. Genetics and genomics both play roles in health and disease. Genetics helps individuals and families learn about how conditions such as sickle cell anemia and cystic fibrosis are inherited in families, what screening and testing options are available, and, for some genetic conditions, what treatments are available. Genetics is a term that refers to the study of genes and their roles in inheritance - in other words, the way that certain traits or conditions are passed down from one generation to another. Genetics involves scientific studies of genes and their effects.

Ivana Puglisi

Ivana Puglisi obtained a degree in “Food Science and Technology” in 1999 at University of Catania, (Title of the thesis: “Characterization of "lettucine" a serine-like protease: cations in the dairy industry") and a Ph. D. in “Agricultural Chemistry” (Title of the thesis: " Cloning, sequence and expression of structural genes involved in the biosynthetic pathway of anthocyanins in blood oranges flesh (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck, Moro): dihydroflavonol 4-reductase (DFR)") in 2003. In her Ph. D. work she studied the biosynthetic pathway of anthocyanins in blood oranges flesh.

Dr. Ivana Puglisi was a researcher at University of Catania. She was professor of “Soil fertility and plant nutrition” (2006-2009), “Food and human nutrition” (2009-2010) and “Biochemistry and secondary metabolism” (2010-2012) at University of Catania.

Main Research lines: enzymatic activities of the soil, plant biostimulant, microalgae, biosynthetic pathway of anthocyanins, purification and characterization of milk-clotting enzymes, studies of genes expression under different stresses, bioremediation using fungi such as Trichoderma harzianum, study of pathogens oomycetes such as Phytophthora spp.
