International Journal of Genome science is a peer-reviewed open acess journal that publishes original research articles as well as review articles in all areas of Genetics. As a journal that has evolved with the field that carries its name, Genomics focuses on the development and application of cutting-edge methods, addressing fundamental questions with potential interest to a wide audience. Our aim is to publish the highest quality research and to provide authors with rapid, fair and accurate review and publication of manuscripts falling within our scope. This journal provides the means for scientists, researchers, medical doctors, clinicians and biotechnologists to publish original rapid communications, full papers and timely state-of- the-art reviews encompassing the fundamental and applied research in all areas of the genome science and technology. Highest priority will be given to short communications reporting important new scientific and technological findings. Short communications on new findings with breakthrough results will be considered for accelerated publication though authors should provide a brief description why the manuscript be considered for fast tracking . Genetics and genomics both play roles in health and disease. Genetics helps individuals and families learn about how conditions such as sickle cell anemia and cystic fibrosis are inherited in families, what screening and testing options are available, and, for some genetic conditions, what treatments are available. Genetics is a term that refers to the study of genes and their roles in inheritance - in other words, the way that certain traits or conditions are passed down from one generation to another. Genetics involves scientific studies of genes and their effects.

Arun Dev Sharma

Associate Prof

Dr. Arun Dev Sharma did his Ph.D. in Plant Stress Physiology from Department of Biotechnology, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Punjab. During his Ph.D. he studied drought induced-morphological and Biochemical and Molecular changes in peptidyl prolyl cis-trans isomerases (PPIases) in Sorghum bicolor. Biochemical and western blot analysis was carried out to find out the changes in PPIases under drought stress. Using differential display-PCR techniques various ESTs were picked up cloned and molecular studies were carried out. The findings have been published in journals of internal and national repute. He has about 13 years Research Experience in the area of Plant Biotechnology thus gaining experience in biochemistry, enzymology, nucleic acid purification, Southern and Northern Western Hybridization, Cloning, etc. He did a lot of Molecular Biology work in Indian Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT), Palampur, H.P.

Dr. Sharma joined Department of Biotechnology, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, in August 2003 as a lecturer and since then he has been in the field of research and teaching practical and theoretical aspects of DNA technology and Genetic Engineering, its applications to B.Sc. and M.Sc students. Since then he has completed 4 Research Projects being sponsored by UGC and DST, Govt. of India in the field of Plant and Microbial Biotechnology. The findings of these studies have been published in journals of National and International repute (54 publications, 1 book, 1 article in a book: Nova Publishers, USA). At present, he is involved in studying the effect of abiotic stresses on some boiling stable proteins in wheat.
